The Workouts of the CrossFit Games
The co-founder and chief financial officer of Omnia Medical in Morgantown, West Virginia, Christopher J. Henneforth engages in CrossFit training. Christopher J. Henneforth hopes to compete in the CrossFit Games, 50 to 54 age group division.
Since 2007, CrossFit Games has determined the “Fittest Man and Fittest Woman on Earth” by subjecting competitors to the “definitive test of fitness.” The games draw athletes from more than 120 countries to perform a broad spectrum of workout routines over the course of multiple days.
Specific workouts of the CrossFit Games have included routines such as the Nasty Nancy. A product of the US Army, the Nasty Nancy begins with a 500-meter run before immediately transitioning into 15 overhead squats and 15 barbell-facing burpees. Competitors must complete this entire cycle five times.
CrossFit Games routines such as the Bike Repeater and Swim ’N’ Stuff incorporate cycling and swimming elements. Other workouts include a 1,000-meter row and a sustained freestanding handstand.
